Gifties and Such

I'm just popping in to say hullo and show you all the wonderful gifts that have been flung my way in the past couple of weeks.

First, I had me a little party for my birthday... on which I turned twenty-eight radiant years of age. (Just go with it.) The party was Twilight Themed, because I'm a dorkus, but it wasn't theme heavy, no costumes... just some roses and lots of red.







And I got TOYS!



About a week later, one of my artplay chix, Jen, sent me this AWESOME Halloweeny banner through the mail. I LOOOOVVEEE getting treats through the mail.


Isn't it just gorgeous?? I love the glittery letters to NO ONE's surprise.

And THEN, out of the BLU, I get a beautiful painting from one of my favorite artists, Suzi Blu.



At first I thought it was a mistake. Like someone with a name close to mine commissioned Suzi and she got us mixed up, but then I finally noticed the card that I had tossed aside in my excitement.



YOU GUYS! Thank you so much! It was such a cool surprise and WOW is it beautiful! I hung it close to my desk for inspiration.

Currently, I am wearing my thank you socks that were a gift from Tally and Peggy along with a cool pink keychain and a tag book!



Love my thank you socks. I also got more fabulous art from Jen and Sera, plus candy (which I ate too much of) and adorable Hello Kitty stickers from Sera, goodies and a fabulous lavender-smelling, handmade relaxation mask from Ruth.

Oh here it is:

Sometimes I wear it while I listen to a book on tape. It's quite luxurious. Right now I'm wearing it on my forehead because that's just how I roll.

So you guys need to stop giving me presents now. (No you don't.) It's such an embarrassment of riches. (Gimme.)

I am spoiled rotten.

(Yeah, that's true.)

Whooo, look at me go!

So two posts in two days! Take THAT!

The thing of it is, I don't feel like I've been out of touch because I've been maniacally updating my Facebook page... almost a disturbing amount. But my writing skills are suffering, due to the informality and brevity of my posts there. But does anyone really care? It's not like I'm not going for the Pulitzer or anything.

So this is what I've been working on of late:

I like the second version better for the vibrancy of the colors. It's called "She preferred a stormy sea." I used a combo of Caran D'ache, Acrylic Paint, Vintage paper and colored pencil (For the face, thank you Suzi Blu!)

Here's a new girl I'm working on:


She's obviously rough, but I have decided that she's Bella from Twilight. I can't wait to see where that takes me!
